PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Vermiculite insulation board for the aluminum industry & Steel Industry
Using vermiculite as the main material, it is specially developed for the aluminum industry, especially for the electrolytic aluminum tank. The use temperature is as high as 1050℃. In the high temperature working environment, the organic impurities in the vermiculite board will be removed to achieve the purification effect. The use process will increase the strength of the vermiculite insulation board, reduce the thermal conductivity, and improve the quality.
Because of this feature, the aluminum tank has a service life of more than 10 years. The maintenance cost of the electrolytic aluminum tank can be greatly reduced. At the same time, its low thermal conductivity can effectively reduce the heat loss of the electrolytic aluminum tank and achieve the effect of saving electricity and energy.
With formula and processing technology, the vermiculite refractory insulation board can effectively resist the penetration of fluoride and cryolite, and will not be wetted by molten aluminum.
It can be used alone or in combination with other products as a backing insulation board for electrolytic aluminum tanks, or as a hot surface insulation board to cover the electrolytic aluminum tanks.
It can be used in the secondary aluminum industry, for example, as a backing board for the furnace wall of a holding furnace, or as a backing board for a launder or a roof.
Main Benefits of Vermiculite Board
When customers ask why they should consider vermiculite board, the answer usually comes down to the following practical benefits:
good fire resistance
effective thermal insulation
lightweight structure
easy cutting and machining
suitability for standard boards and custom parts
wide application range from fire protection to industrial thermal equipment
Is Vermiculite Board the Same as Calcium Silicate Board?
No, vermiculite board and calcium silicate board are different materials.
Although both are used in insulation and fire-related applications, they differ in composition, structure, performance balance, and typical use preferences. In general, vermiculite board is often selected where lightweight heat insulation and easy fabrication are important, while calcium silicate board is often considered where different strength or temperature-performance characteristics are needed.
