PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Fused Cast AZS Channel Blocks
Description
Fused Cast AZS Channel Blocks, also known as forehearth channels or feeder channels, constitute the premium, heavy-duty refractory lining required for the critical transit routes of modern glass furnaces. These blocks serve as the vital highway safely transport molten glass from the working end or distributor to the final feeding and gob-forming mechanisms.
Manufactured via a state-of-the-art electric arc melting process, high-purity alumina (Al₂O₃), zirconia (ZrO₂), and silica (SiO₂) are completely liquefied at temperatures exceeding 2,000°C. The liquid matrix is poured into precision engineered molds and undergoes a highly controlled cooling phase. The resulting blanks are diamond-ground to micrometric tolerances, ensuring a seamless, leak-proof thermal highway for aggressive glass melts.
Advantages
l Exceptional Chemical & Erosion Resistance to Glass Liquid: The presence of highly stable zirconia crystals embedded in a dense matrix provides unmatched resistance against the constant chemical dissolution and scouring caused by fast-flowing, high-temperature molten glass.
l Guaranteed Glass Purity: AZS channel blocks feature an ultra-dense structure with very low apparent porosity. This drastically suppresses the exudation of glassy phases and prevents the formation of structural defects like glass cords, stones, streaks, or blistering.
l Precise Geometry & Tight Joints: Advanced diamond grinding ensures incredibly tight tolerances for the interlocking blocks. This ultra-tight interlocking assembly minimizes joint gaps, prevents glass liquid penetration, blocks upward drilling erosion, and vastly reduces the risk of glass leakage.
l Outstanding Thermal & Mechanical Stability: They maintain high structural stability and physical strength at extreme temperatures (up to 1500°C), allowing them to support heavy backup insulation layers without shifting or cracking.
l Extended Campaign Lifespan: Designed to match or exceed the entire furnace campaign life, our AZS channel blocks dramatically lower unscheduled downtime, reduce maintenance overhead, and optimize overall factory throughput.
Applications
l Glass Furnace Forehearths & Feeders: Used as the primary bottom and sidewall lining blocks for channels transporting molten glass to the gob-forming area.
l Container Glass Production: Essential for high-pull manufacturing lines of food jars, beverage bottles, and cosmetics glass, where uniform glass temperature and chemistry are vital for high-speed automated forming.
l Premium Tableware & Flat Glass: Applied in the manufacturing of high-clarity crystal glassware, plates, and electronic-grade display substrate glass, where even microscopic defects are unacceptable.
l Pharmaceutical & Borosilicate Glass: Crucial for neutral glass tubing, ampoules, and laboratory glassware that involve highly aggressive chemicals and require an completely inert melting environment.
l Specialty & Electronic Glass: Applied in forehearth configurations for display panels, fiberglass, and optical glass where zero-tolerance contaminant standards apply.
